I strongly believe that dreams almost made something revolutionary. If they ever partner with a lot of people for development. They could make game dev easy to do. I believe their formatting or UI was the main thing that held it back from being game changing in the industry. If they could streamline or simplify the Ui to be something similar to that of minecraft. I think it would explode. The simpler the creation process gets, the more likely other people are to get involved with it. Now im not saying make blocks only for materials, like minecraft, But it could start with that. Build the rough drafts out of blocks, then add angles, curves, and circles to refine it. Use real world materials and textures. Then more time could be put into optimization so any platform could run it. Make more game like when it comes to the actual process of game development. If unity, minecraft, and dreams made a baby. It would be the perfect storm for making the ultimate game dev tool in a real work flow scenario. Imagine UE5 or UE6 with minecraft blocks and building mechanics. Then you refine with brush tools and non square materials. Even children would be able to game dev, if you made the process simplistic enough.
