Fixing Reinstallation Mac OSX issue 'error occurred while preparing the installation

1. For Option 1: press and hold the Command (⌘)-R keys until you see the Apple logo.
2. For Option 2: press and hold the Option-Command-R keys until you see the Apple logo.
3. When you see the Apple logo, release the buttons: Now you will see the utilities window.
4. Select Reinstall Mac (or Reinstall OS X) and click Continue and follow the instructions.
5.Before this, my Mac had macOS Sierra installed. So this process will reinstall macOS Sierra.
6. Now you need to connect your Mac to the Internet. You may do so via Wi-Fi:
7. When you click, a new popup will appear saying: “To download and install mac OS, your computer’s eligibility will be verified with Apple” To verify, you need to have a Internet connection. Click Continue.
8. After the verification step, you will be asked to agree to the terms. Click Agree to continue.
9. Next, you will select your hard drive (this is usually Macintosh HD), then click Install.
10. You can also delete your disk, if you want to (for example; you are giving away your Mac) before reinstalling Mac OS. If you are giving away your Mac, use Option 2 because new install will not be associated with your Apple ID. If you want to do this, select Disk Utility to erase your data.
Thats it. As stated above, a fresh Mac OS installation can fix a number of common problems.

It will offer you Ventura or other recent OS and off you go. If you only hold down Command + R, the system takes you to an older recovery setup offering older OS like High Sierra, which Apple no longer supports. That’s why you get this message: ‘Recovery Server Could Not Be Contacted’. So all that changing the date and time stuff won’t help!

i have been looking for help online and can't find anything i tried coming here but this isn't my issue, my issue is i tried to recover my macbook in recovery mode by installing the OS X software from there, it acts like its installing then after it restarts to do the second step of install it stops towards the end of the install and says "an error occurred while installing OS X". Do you know what this could mean? or how i can fix it? i tried restarting and all it does, is start up on the installer screen, proceeds to install and the same message pops up. I'm so frustrated, I'm desperate because I've tried everything, all resets, all troubleshoots, and nothing but dead ends, so i decided to ask for your help.

What you need to do is restart and keep shift pressed down for ages until it prompts a login the login then restart again and hold down opt, ctr, R until the recovery mode shows after like a 4 min wait and then you see the Apple logo then you have to click install Mac OS bit and then Mac OS Catalina shows I was stuck on mountain lion for agessss and stayed up so late

The video is a waste of time. The method I have tested is that you need to burn a USB flash drive with the system, then boot the Mac from this flash drive and set the date to no higher than 2019. And then Do all the usual routine for installing the system
