4-5-4 triple play is the first ever recorded in today's match, in the Major.
Congrats for the Pirates!

Back in 1981, I was handling the publicity for the San Francisco stage play production of "Bleacher Bums" who's tag line was "not a 3 act play, but a 9 inning comedy" about the Chicago Cubs. Many of the actors were not baseball fans... so we took in a game at Candlestick between the Giants and visiting Cubs. I wanted to give them an idea how Cubs fans supported their team, even when they were on the road. In about the 5th inning the Giants had 2 men on at 1st and 2nd base and nobody out. We were sitting in the upper deck and I got up and stated chanting Hey! Hey! Cubs need a triple play! A few times in a row... when a Giant batter grounded into a round-the-horn triple play from 3rd baseman who tages the base, then to 2nd for another out and then to first!  Even the Giant fans stood up and gave me a hand. To be honest I must of used that chant many times before, however this was the first time it was answered!

I love love love the branding at the end. Next time just forget about the highlight and go right to the branding. Give the people what they want!

Heyward made that play possible, if he was paying attention and ran back to 2nd after Walker caught the lineout, 4-5-4 triple play would have never happened.

Cant believe this has never happened before.

This was great an all but there's a reason it hasn't happened in 300, 000 games.
Either both runners lost their minds or they were being sent on contact by their manager. WHY?!
