Adaptationism 1

Adaptationism is the view that the primary cause of all evolutionary change is natural selection, and that the central goal of evolutionary biology is to explain adaptations. This video examines the criticisms of adaptationism made by Gould and Lewontin in their famous paper "The Spandrels of San Marco and the Panglossian Paradigm", and the alternatives approaches to evolutionary theory that they believe have been neglected.

Dear Kane, I want to thank you for your hard work. Nonetheless, it would have been more illuminating if you had commenced with an introductory section, outlining the central issues explored in the realm of philosophy of biology, prior to delving into the discourse on adaptationist and non-adaptationist perspectives. This approach would have provided a broader perspective.

Another good video, thanks.
I always find it odd that anyone thinks it one thing or the other rather than a combination of many things.

Tempeture extremes good for physiological strength building and the natural pruning process of assisting organisms already dying to naturally expire on their own faster (thoughts on nutrition here also assistive in both aims of aligning with strength and aiding in natural expiration of deadweight)
