I believe this machine did the drumming for Echo & The Bunnymen on their earliest recordings.

We love and use the mini pops hard and direct.

Just got one from Ebay and it's as good as new!
This demo only shows half its potential, in fact it sounds really warm and beautyful, no computer can reach this sound.

Very cool how you demo all the machines, I've always wanted to know the difference between them, now I know, I really appreciate it!

the very first beat was used for 'Astroboy' by the Buggles in the late 70s. check it out!

@jukidribbling It's also very similar to the Casio MT 65/ 68 model (and other early Casios), which DID have analogue drums. Each drum has a trim pot on the circuit board allowing for each percussion sound to be tweaked. Later Casios used digital samples and lost the warmth of the earlier models.

Love the bossa beat... so warm... still good for today.

My, if this was in my hands I would feel as if any musical endeavor of mine would be golden... I was in the market for a drum machine and now I know what I need!

Hi, I have both and I can say they sound different! Note that the Minipops Junior has only a few drum sounds. The Minipops 7 has 15-16 of them, and more rhythms. The Minipops 7 is the only Minipops model, which has these 3 characteristic sounds (Qujiada, Tambourine and Guiro), which are mixable to the rhythms.

I was just offered an Elka organ with a built in Leslie speaker . I noticed it has one of these in a draw under it. The person wants £60 for it. I was going to take it just to take the Leslie out but I saw one of these sell for £200. It's a huge thing but I think I will get it as I love this.

@CaptainErn it's called rythmus, and you can combine any number of basic rythms and adjust panning and volume for every instrument in it

The Buggles used this in Astroboy! Look the song up and the beat is right at the beginning!

This was used in Buggles - Astroboy and the paroles on parade (at the beginning)

put that through a delay, and magic bass lines will appear …. what happened to all those drum machines? you never see them for sale. Are they hidden in the back of closets?

this sat atop many an organ without in built drum machine in the 70s i would imagine.
