How to remove 'trending' in the search bar (windows 10)

Windows 10 constantly makes changes to our User Interface without our permission, like this trending section in the search bar! This video will show how to disable it.

Doesn't work anymore, need to edit the registry to turn "bingseachenabled" off, but then you can't use the web search from the Start menu at all.

As this no longer works Ive got to risk breaking my PC by playing with the registry just to get rid of this thing that shoves stuff in my search box, no room for pinned Apps just news about some Z lister having a nose job or thousands killed in horror... Way to go Microsoft youve managed to make something more annoying than that bloody XP paperclip.

There is no "search highlights" to toggle off in my taskbar. (Windows 10) "Search permissions and history" has a bunch of irrelevant settings but even if I search for "search highlights" it acts as if it never heard of such a setting. Help, I want to get rid of this offensive thing!

cheers, it got rid of the image but looks like theyve made it so "trending searches" still sticks around. any chance you know how to get rid of it now? theres probably a registry key or something that can be changed to turn it off even if theres no obvious setting but i havent found it

This isn't working. Can you think of a better solution? I am losing my shit trying to get of this thing, and find solutions, but it's all the same bullshit that isn't working for me. Can you please look up another way to do it?
