Great tone and control. Perfect example, you can play a pure Telecaster without a slide and still sound powerful.

Albert Collins from the movie "Adventures in Baby Sitting" blues club scene, "Ain't nobody gonna get out of here without singing the blues".
Fun

Was at this show, none of my friends wanted to go so I went by myself, ate dinner at The Howard Johnson in Manhattan then went to Carnegie Hall and had a glorious time. Also on bill was Lonnie Mack and the headliner was Roy Buchanan. This show was released on VHS tape which I still have called Further On Up The Road.

Wow, I recorded what they televised from this show in 1990 or something, never saw this though! (Before the 'radio mic' was invented, right..? 😄) just love this!! I was just discovering guitar and this concert was a massive part of that. Let there be no question, when Albert Collins starts to play, jesus those notes and that tone just rips right through ya! You can forget your 'light' strings (no offence Roy Buchanan 😊) heavier's what it's all about. Trying to see what rig he was using, there's a Marshall stack at the back but it didn't sound like one of those. Incredible.
