It's crazy how seamlessly this went from a normal Uma video to an awesome little documentary about In the Same Boat. What a great organization and group of people behind it. But, really, the editing of this video was fantastic, Kika.

As a Norwegian having lived abroad for many years and an avid follower of your platform here, I cannot thank you enough for your beautiful videos at Sailing Uma and beyond. People like Rolf are Godsend and should be paid more than enough by the Government. The fishing and Oil industry who never pay for anything when not being caught for tax evasion and more should pay IN THE SAME BOAT org., and others with a conscience, a built-in tax not only today but also for all future pollution that we all know are bound to happen. Hats off for FAB camera/editing/music and great spirit -

I take my hat off to both of you. Having broken the mould of the Caribbean or the Bahamas (which all of the other round world sailors have chosen) you have given us excitement, adventure and some of the most stunning scenery on YouTube. Your photography is excellent and you have really set the mood with the background accompanying music. Thank you for having the courage to be different and go into the uncharted areas where nobody else has ventured. As an ex 75 year old Mariner that spent all my life at sea, I take my hat off to you....THANK YOU

You start off by showing the utter beauty of Norway, how calm and welcoming the place is. Then suddenly we are in the middle of what is an ecological emergency all around the globe. Not even a segue, just straight into it. That kind of film reminds us all, especially sailors, that if we want to keep the beauty of earth, we have to be responsible in so many ways.
I agree with Rolf, companies that make billions from plastic should donate to solving the problem. It's great to know that In The Same Boat exists, and that people are trying to solve the problem, it makes me want to be part of it.
Thanks for a most excellent, responsible video.

Thanks Dan and Kika. And Thanks to 'inthesameboat'.
When I need a temporary perch i.e. across the bowsprit etc, I make up a 500-800mm seat/sling out of a single length of some spare rope, similar to a wide makrame belt, with a 250-300mm loop at one end and 600-1000mm tails. Loop the end around a rail then back through itself, then tie the loose ends to another/same rail with a quick release hitch; It easily adjusts, and when not in use just loop it through any rail and leave it free. If done correctly you can 'un-zip' it and use the rope for original purpose. A similar technique allows you to tie temporary snubbers in mooring lines.

Clean ups like this should be part of the school education, one week for every child to see the effect that we have on our environment.
Thanks for such a great video and for raising awareness. This is a beautifully made film and should win some kind of award 🙏

A certain sign of a talented interviewer is when they let the subject speak for itself.

Well done!

Shout out from Texas! I made a small donation to this group to help then out. Not trying to brag or anything, just wanted to share so you know your hard work in reaching out for these awesome people is having tangible results. I love your channel. Binged all your older stuff to catch up to current. Now I look forward to getting notified you posted something new! Cheers!

This was a great episode and a real eye opener about the (sad) statistics that Rolf described of _abandoned fishing gear_ being the most washed up on the beaches. Its intriguing that he used to promote plastics in his earlier career, but true to his philosophy, stopped doing that and created a foundation that cleans beaches and educates volunteers.

I think the crew of *Gone With The Wynns* are also *In The Same Boat, * if not officially, at least in spirit, as I have seen them clean up the beaches of Pacific Islands over many episodes whilst in lockdown. They also have a "can do something about it" spirit, and are educators too. Good stuff, all of you sailors!

When it comes humans there are two types here on the Earth. Those that "LIVE ON" the Earth and those who "LIVE WITH" the Earth. Thank all of you for taking care of our Earth.

💜 Your parents should be very proud of you both! You’re out there on your own, seeing the world with the tiniest of footprints, but most importantly, you’re changing the world by helping out and teaching others! 🏆 Well done, Kika & Dan!! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
