I had an old election sign sitting outside for a while now. Knew id find a good use for it. I got some plastic tubing for a few bucks and made a pair of mayfly's with some paracord 😊

I understand rafting with river sandals but for camp I find my hemp flip flops with rubber nonskid soles work fine. Wear them around town too.

That’s funny, I was actually thinking of getting my first pair of Crocs 😆 I have the Ztrails, and I use a water show sometimes, but I keep thinking I’ll stick with bread bags. I used my Ztrails on the Trans Catalina Trail and they were so nice to have! The 2nd time I did that trail I used a pair of airplane slippers. Those were nice too.

I make mine out of discarded business signs and tent pole bungie cord, they work great

I despise crocs. Never wanted any and never even thought of getting any, but after looking into ultralight options I've been convinced into trying the crock sandals. They claim to be like 4oz for the pair and seem like any other cross foot sandal. I can see why you'd want something that straps to your foot, but as far as lightweight goes, and comfort (assuming since I haven't tried them, but everyone raves about the comfort of regular crocs) I'm convinced they will be worth trying. I usually wear cross foot sandals without a heel strap, and normally stay away from thongs so I don't see why they wouldn't work for me.
But if we're talking about saving weight specifically and not talking about anything else what is your reason for not liking crocs? is it the non-open-toe? do you not like how they feel? are they not as light as they seem to be? is it a size thing, since you have to wear them on the outside of your pack? or are you just on the anti-croc bandwagon with the rest of us? lol

Could you combine the straps from the Mayfly to the Ztrail DIY ? Cut weight but have a more robust sole?

I sooner carry a pair of water shoes . Syper usful for crossing rivers and can be worn as a normal pair of trainers around camp. Flip flops are to cold and no use as an actual shoe .
