The world lays in tatters, exhausted, bleeding, scarred and burnt, the people desperate. But even after the apocalypse there are men willing to give everything to return to light, to knowledge, to civilisation. Whatever the cost, and whatever the means...

It is the age of a chosen few, an age of greatness, when the first true kings built vast kingdoms from the ashes of past empires... it is the Age of Charlemagne.

"Now they say nothing, they fear me like a force of nature, a dealer in thunder and death"

I knew I recognized that voice somewhere

The music in this trailer was excellent. Hope that is in game. Also interesting ideas for the new campaign mechanics. Look forward to reviewing this. Very nice trailer.

People wanted DLC about Charlemange, CA gives that DLC, yet they downvote the video.

This type of high quality DLC is what everyone wants and loves. Credit where credit is due. This looks fantastic.

Seeing this cinematic, after seeing the intro cinematic for vanilla Total War Attila, gives me hope. Like, after how bleak and dark that was, with Rome crumbling and Attila leading the Hunnic horde to devastate everything in its path, seeing Charlemagne here makes it clear that there is light at the end of the tunnel. That no matter how dark the night gets there will eventually be a new dawn.

Stand up for you're rights as a consumer people. SEGA only have the power if you don't stand up and say no to Day One DLC. It's wrong and a bullshit business practice which needs to be wiped out.

I like how this gave a sense of hope with the dawn of the medieval era after surviving the bleak and apocalyptic world brought about by the huns.

1:00 And so i sliced him hollywood style... the chainmail never bothered me anyway !

Skallagrim, where are you ? :P

Guy in full chain mail defeated by a cut to the chest then a guy with no armor on, defeated with a stab to the torso? Chain specifically was designed to stop cuts, it is virtually impossible to cut chain mail like that with any sword. That is why longer and thinner sword points were designed, to get in between the links and break them with thrusting attacks.

I know that Attila isn't very popular, but I'm glad that they are still working on it atleast a bit

Given that this is a period history glossed over as the 'Dark Ages' where it's all dung and stuff, showing that there WAS light in the darkness and that it wasn't all the aftermath of the fall of Rome being smoldering, this is a really great period for Total War to go into. Barbarian Invasion was the kinda-sort in-between of R:TW and M2:TW, but there's still quite a gap. This is a chance to bridge that historical gap so often overlooked and bring it to the forefront. Excellent job on concept, CA.

Pre-medieval setting?? awesome :D

I just hope it will cover the entire map not just a part of it.

So stoked for this! Absolutely love the Dark ages and how the Ancient world morphed into the Medieval world.

Would definitely love to see an Alfred the Great expansion!

Hopefully this will revive Attila for me! Looks very promising. I loved the sound effects in the slowmo part, haha.

Can't wait to check it out!

When you think, Charles the Great (Charlemagne) created a empire which can gather a great part of the germanic people (Frank, Lombards, Visigoth, Ostrogoth, Saxons of Germany... etc) if his children were more competent, the empire could have the most greatest of Europe.

And the old rivality beetween all the germanic state would not exist.
