I would hope that the government would do everything possible to preserve this historic gem. Once gone, this is a precious piece of history that will be lost forever. There are no excuses not to preserve and rescue this castle.

I live in Airth and have already phoned the Police Scotland twice regarding the breaking in and illegal entry via the back windows of Airth Castle in the last weeks. This is a Grade A listed building and the drug users who use this site have already burnt part of the 1800s Coach House down. All this poses a major threat to our Scottish Heritage! Will the Government do something???

I had my wedding reception at Airth castle April 1990, it was a magical day, beautiful castle so sad to see how it has fallen into disrepair (and yes we are still married!)

AIRTH CASTLE should be protected from the evil people who go in and damaged it it's a beautiful castle worth saving it should be made into a Museum and looked after it's of historic value and should be protected from vandals who should be ashamed of their self for doing the damage to this great property

Vandals have totally destroyed the inside of it, ripped out copper pipes, smashed windows doors and walls, tore down a beautiful banister and even smashed in a massive skylight. It’s bloody disgusting!!! I watched a YouTube channel channel called Escapade where they explore the castle and grounds, it’s heartbreaking to see 😢

They have to keep the vadalls and thief s away from it too they have done about 1milion pounds of damage to the place in 3 months the place was also a maternity hospital in the 40s 50s 60s

It was my understanding Airth Castle did well until the COVID shut down for 1.5 year. It went up for Sale in May 2023. Not sure if it's still for sale. Hate to hear its been looted/vandalized. I wanted to stay there, but it was above my budget. Then I was going to try a lunch there, but it shut down.

A very lovely building. Sad that people destroy beauty. Owners should secure building, have on site security or sell it. Hope not awaiting for it to be beyond saving by fire and then new build development.

Something which was not mentioned, I have it on good authority that the previous ownership/s were a front for organised crime organisations. This might explain its sudden demise as a hotel?!

This building needs to be protected and saved as soon as. So many buildings are being destroyed and left to rot in Scotland especially the amazing beautiful Crawford Priory and the historical Cambusnethan priory. I’m biased towards the neo gothic revival but all these buildings need to be saved from the ignorance of vandalism and the thieving bastards who rip off anything of value 😡😡😡

Someone still owns it, millions now wiped off its value to save a few quid on security.
