I also live on a Florida waterway. As already said in a previous comment, he didn't come close to installing it properly. The tape is to be caulked on both edges then covered with the liquid seal. I tried my own experiment on a slider and it worked great but try your own experiment. Do the research. They have very specific videos for each type of door. window and garage. Also no door or window should have that big a gap and should be replaced.

You didn’t follow instructions dude. You caulk and seal with flood paste before you tape SMH. 🤦🏻‍♂️

This really is just a bad test. Not only is a shallow pool across the entire surface nothing like a flood, but you're supposed to use it in combination with other flex flood products. Use some flex seal and flex caulk THEN use some tape THEN use more seal.

Looks like it leaked through your wood. Not through the actual tape. Maybe if you seal the door 100% with a wood sealer during construction that might actually work?

Could this tape be applied to a wet surface.

Typically with rising flood waters there is increased pressure on the door from flood waters. The higher the water goes the more water force on the door. This test proved nothing.

Looking at flood protection methods since we live on a waterway in FL. Really appreciate this video NOT from the manufacturer with an honest experiment.
