South Florida driver claims State Farm not honoring insurance policy

A South Florida driver is one of many learning the hard way that just because you pay for full car insurance coverage, it doesn’t mean your insurance company will have your back.

State Farm is known to be one of the worst insurance companies on fighting against paying claims. They will rip you off even if you have been with them for decades.

State Farm left me stranded in Wyoming during Winter in 2015. I had to walk about 1 mile to get cellphone coverage, I was in the middle of nowhere. They said I didn't have insurance with them, when in fact I did. After I got them to realize I had insurance, they sent a tow truck 100 miles in the wrong direction. As the tow company was finally arriving, they called me back and said I had no roadside towing and I would be forced to pay out of pocket.

Thank God the tow truck driver was an awesome dude. That was the last straw for him, as he had issues with State Farm before. He gave me a ride with my vehicle to a place where I had to wait until the next day to get the part I needed to do the repair myself.

I was a Katrina survivor - had Farmers Insurance, they and the other Insurance Cartels refused to cover our flood policies, and were caught pretending not to know the policy holders and shredding and deleting all paperwork on them. - then they even re-wrote policies after the storm and claimed they didn't cover "wind-driven rain" - ludicrous. Leaving half a million US Citizens cast to the 4 winds, and refusing to pay out their dues - while stealing over $19 Billion in premiums from the victims. - all while the States REQUIRE you to pay for these insurance policies they refuse to honor.... fk'in crooked.

They essentially will not cover luxury cars but will charge the high premiums. This isn't even about electric cars this is against luxury cars.

By the way, I figured out Sate Farm was garbage back in 2003 after 10 years with them...they failed to tell me I needed a "rider policy" for such things as watercraft, jewelry, firearms and antiques when writing my renters insurance policy in Florida back in 1994. I went to Progressive, and I haven't looked back in 20 years.

I used to have State Farm around 8 years ago for business, home and car, then I started to see news about ppl that have the same insurance and they didn’t want to fix their houses etc. So I changed insurance and I am so glad I did, this company is just a big known name nothing else.

A few years ago I battled State Farm for 3 weeks over the proper headlamp assembly for my Cadillac. They wanted to put the standard headlamp assembly in after a minor parking collision. However, my car was built with the top of the range optional headlamps.
I ended up telling State Farm I was going to have the Cadillac shop repair the car with the proper parts, then would sue them for breach, time loss, and interest.
I told them they entered into the contract to provide coverage on my CTS V, so hold up your end. They did, then I shopped around and left them. The lost my 3 cars, house, lake house, boat, two jet skis.
