I get a kick when I hear some of the complaints about this car: "I can hear the engine and the tire noise.", "I can feel the bumps in the road.", "It doesn't get great gas mileage." Duh, it's a true sports car that isn't trying to be all things to all drivers. It's following the "form follows function" philosophy of Porsche: do a limited number of things extremely well, versus trying to do everything and not succeeding in doing anything particularly well. Most of the critics of this car just don't get it when it comes down to the most important things to look for in a true sports car: lots of power, low weight and a responsive and well-controlled suspension. Most of these people would be happier in a sports-oriented luxury car like an Infinity G37, Lexus IS or BMW 340. The problem with these cars is that you'll sacrifice feel, handling precision and responsiveness for comfort and convenience and have to pay a lot more for it. It's all about being honest with yourself and what you really want more in a car, realizing that all cars are, by necessity, a compromise of qualities and performance. The only thing on this car that I would change is to have a slightly lower weight. At 3300 lbs it's not a pig and it does handle the weight it has very well, but my target weight for weight reduction is 3, 000 lbs, about the most I could expect to be able to shave off without butchering the appearance.

Remember, this is a real sports car. Gripes mean nothing just nit picking. Handling, power are for enthusiasts rest is fluff. For price comparison nothing really equals this vehicle.

Good review, but I had to laugh at when you said at about 8:35 into the video "you love these paddle shifters". The one that you drove was a base and it did not have paddle shifters, the video shows that as well

I just bought a 2019 Nissan 370Z sport coupe 6M in magnetic black with a black cloth interior at Future Nissan in Roseville. David Ott, the salesman, gave me a really great hassle-free deal. The car is a dream to drive.

I love my Z. my first car was a 86 300zx just sold my 350z a couple months ago for the 370 and man is it an awesome car. Ive driven many cars because i use to be a salesman but for the cost the Z is an amazing bargain. I actually got mine with 14k miles in magma red for 21k out the door heck thats a deal guys. i dont know why he says it looks dated because i drove a 350 for 5 years and the 370 looks way better and not dated at all. When you look into the car from the outside the interior screams sophisticated sports car.

First of all, 2013-2014 had 19" wheels, why would they DOWNGRADE to 18"? Obviously aftermarket or dealer-fitted wheels. Secondly, hell to the f-ing no does the 370 and 350z look similar. Are you blind???? Third, the Z logo on the key has been there since 2009, not unique. Sorry have you seen any of the previous model Z's? I own a 2013 model and all these "new features" are exactly the same - thanks but meh review.

to all those people complaining about the cars interior looking ancient. People don't buy this car because its high tech... people mod the shit out of this car. Pretty much everything gets replaced from recaro seats to momo wheels ect ect...

The Z really needs an update.. Mustang and Camaro have been redesigned twice since 2009 and have lots of great tech, better mileage (and on 87 octane) and less expensive. When shopping for a new car I love the Z, I'm a previous Z owner, but I can't look past the fact I'd be paying more money for less compared to latest and greatest offerings from other manufacturers.

what really bothers me is that nissan made the hood so plain, they should add like hood vents or something to make it more performance look

I know this video is a year old, but I'm almost 100% sure that the base models do have a rear camera. The screen is within the rear view mirror. My 2015 base model does, at least.

I'm pretty positive the 370Z didn't have a 7 speed auto in 2009...
