Least Bittern Vocalizing

While exploring a beautiful spot in Florida's Mallory Swamp I heard several Least Bitterns vocalizing rather quietly. One seemed reasonably close and in fact climbed the reeds within just feet of where I stood. I'm grateful for that bird's patience and persistence as a very cooperative subject!

Great video! I’ve never seen a least bittern and have only seen an American bittern once down in the Viera Wetlands. Thanks for sharing.
