Bastila Shan is a Hot Mess!

In Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) Bastila Shan is a hot unstable mess, and completely fails as she tries to portray herself as the complete opposite to Revan. Bastila falls to the dark side quite quickly once held hostage by Darth Malak, which should catch no one to surprise. #shorts

Bullying Bastilla and Carth are honestly the major highlight of this game

What makes Bastila work as a prodigy character is that she’s not only a supporting character, but she is heavily flawed. You can tell she believes the things she says about the Jedi, but struggles to actually adhere to their philosophy. She actually has dimensions unlike a certain Disney rip-off character.

I don’t know if she “easily” fell to the dark side, she definitely is a conflicted hot mess I agree with that, and was likely prone to it.
However we don’t know how long Malak tortured her for. She had to of broken between the 2nd to last Star Forge map since that’s when we are captured and before we get to Lehon. That could be have been days, weeks, months even possibly a year, the Revan novel seems to imply a month or less but it was written for SWTOR after the fact.

She was perfect to the 12 year old version of me. I thought she was the total package lol.

I think that was her whole point. She's not a Jedi Master, and is talked about being on the younger side and is only being valued for her command over Battle Meditation. So it makes sense she acts immature and brash, and despite trying to model what the Jedi is supposed to be, through Revan it shows someone can fall but redeemed, which goes against how the Jedi are in that game

The force bond with Revan made her even more unstable. She got force linked to the strongest sith at the time while she was just a padawan.

Technically, Bastila was barely more than a padawan herself at this point, in her late teens or very early 20's. She's not supposed to be mature or fully developed yet.

That's why she isn't a Mary Sue. She's naturally gifted and very powerful, but also a hot mess with a sexy voice.

Bastila is really interesting. Her unique abilities earned her a position she didn't deserve and circumstance gave her the bond with Revan. No wonder she is arrogant and feel like she is more than she actually is. The jedi order failed her because they were getting desperate. Bastila is trying her best, but she just isn't levelheaded enough to be where she is.

It helps that she's an actual character rather than a marie sue. She has flaws. That's a good thing.
