How a Refugee Built the Sriracha Empire

Sriracha sauce as we know it today was concocted in Los Angeles by David Tran, a Chinese-Vietnamese refugee, in the 1980s. Its iconic rooster bottle is recognizable the world over. We went to the factory of Huy Fong Foods, which makes the sauce, and got an inside look at how it’s made.

* CORRECTION: In the video, we said Tran left Vietnam in 1967. The date is meant to be 1978, when he left on the freighter to Hong Kong.

This man is so humble unlike other interviews that I’ve seen, he look like the type of grandpa that gives life lasting advise for their grandkids

I like this man.he made more than enough money and knows that he's set so no point in raising his prices.unlike other companies where it's all about money and more money it's never enough money.dude even have his bottle and barrel made in the same place so more people would have jobs.

I love this man and his story and philosophy. Literally as synonymous as "Heinz" is in the ketchup world. And YES I too own a green hat and red Sriracha my kids stole them from me!

I am also a year of the rooster. And your business is the kind of business I want ever since I was a kid, also I love vinegar I fermented a coconut vinegar and adding them chilis, garlic and ginger, and I want to sell spicy vinegar too. I love your business. No harming of animals, not an animal products, and I am not complete if there is no spicy like chili or hot sauce. Wow just wow!!!! I am impress with this!

The hype edge of this video falls short of the subject. Kind of funny. I put sriracha on it. ❤️
