This is such a stupid price point. I have worked in Pro A/V and sold to broadcast journalism outfits. They'd be lucky to get half of what he's asking.

This is a terrible product. Based on the way he was talking about it seems like they want the product to be used for eng, due to the increase in quality of cell cameras they are trying to improve the audio quality fine however.
Let's take this interview as a example. First you have to put the device somewhere so let's say on the ground (which is a terrible place to put it but probably the most practical) now you need to run your mics to the host and interviewee but they need slack so they are comfortable and can move around so you need to run the mic cable out of the interface along the floor and up the subject to where you want it to be placed let's say 10ft. So now you have your mic wire on the ground. From the interview they are assuming that the device you are recording audio on you are also filming. Here is the problem now you need to connect the interface to the phone so it's now a 10-15ft run of thunder bolt to the person filming. So the videographer is holding their phone in landscape with a 15ft thunderbolt cable sticking out the side hoping it doesn't fall out.

Also how unprofessional does that look let me put this box on the ground and run 3 long cables to my phone.

It costs $650 just for the box. You can buy the sennheiser wireless kit with h4 zoom and mic for $20 more. And if you want another input it is the cost of a dpa microphone.

And you might say but Dan it's only a 4060 is a far superior mic then ME that comes with the sennheiser pack. You are totally right however for a 5min youtube video that most people are going to listen to on crappy headphones it doesn't matter.

Now if this device was half the price Bluetooth and 1 input and you had the ability to pair 2 together, that is a totally different ball game.
