I (Level 15) left from Ingress 2 years ago. I'm looking to comments now and i can say, it was the best decision.

Everyone’s complaining about aesthetics, or it not working for android. I’ve been playing ingress for 3 years. Give the developers time to fix things it just came

<LVL13 player here. what an absolute mess Niantic have made. The only thing i like about this is:
- on iOS i can now see my clock & rapidly depleting battery level at the top of my screen
- recharge bit on the left is quicker

The things i dont like:
- Laggy interface (even more laggy than old Ingress)
- Attach button (in centre). it took me 4 hours to figure out how to attack an enemy portal!)
- Connection issues (constant disconnect)
- impossible to see text on screen (too small & text is dark on a dark background). You almost need a tablet to play!
- when deploying resonators the deploy button sits above your inventory so when you press it you yourhand is covering half your screen
- Background & interface blends into each other, buttons are not easy to identify (hence 4 hours trying to attack)
- thumbnails of portals appear at times which block the screen
- recharging portals, extremelly slow, clunky & yes the button is in the middle of the screen
- linking portals is clunky, slow & at times i havent a clue if its trying to find portals or there arent any to connect to.
- in town you cant see neutral portals, they are too small on map
- map zooms in & out too fast & clunky. Zoomed right in is too close, i cant see other portals nearby. Its either Zoom all out or all in.
- Mandatory 'press X' button to close window. Why cant i just click anywhere outwith the window to clear it!?
- Animations are slow, clunky & mandatory
- music cuts out when opening the app
- more emphasis on manga cartoons & Ingress History. (i couldnt give 2 shits about cartoons or its history, its a game FFS ! I use it when cycling to & from work or on the tram)
- plus more but ive lost the will with this...

Why couldn't Niantic of just begun by creating the old version with same menu's but higher resolution & gradually worked it up towards whatever directioin it seems to think its going? The version had its issues & annoyances but its a masterpiece compared the polished steamy Turd that Prime is. Niantic you should fire anybody involved in creating this, & also get rid of the Beta team. What an utter embarrassment this is.

I'll not touch Prime & will give Retacted a go until they pull the plug on that.

Personally I liked the old intro video better, it actually explained what this game was, this is just bits of the story with lots of flashing graphics. If I wasn't telling my friends what this game actually was, this video would do nothing to interest them and probably just confuse them even more.

I'm not liking the new scanner at all, there's not much new and inventory management (especially capsule management) is not intuitive anymore and incredibly slow. And what ( or where is ) happened to the feature of naming capsules ? The sound scheme is WAY WAY too busy, and so is the screen. The items all look too similar IMHO, aka the colors of bursters and shields are way too subtle.. The glyph hacking feels glitchy and very slow now, the vibration thing is incredibly ANNOYING. So far my taste of the new scanner for playing a few hours today is just a total turn off. :/ Also the sound sliders don't like to move without holding really still and going REALLY SLOW ( I'm on IOS ). But while it's pretty, it needs ALOT of improvement.

Ingress should add challenges like

“hack 20 portals” for 5 cmu

or something, or at least a “slow” way to get free chaotic mater units so that I don’t have to spend 79$ for 30 resonators.

Please don't complain about the UI. Yes, it is kinda slow and a bit laggy. And it has some bugs. But overall the new ingress prime looks awesome, and as time goes on things will improve. This is the very first version of prime, and as with all first versions, there will be some slowness and buggyness, as well as some things are missing. And just becuase there is not anything new about this update doesn't mean Niantic isn't planning anything. Overall Niantic did a great job on prime, and I at least am excited to see what potential prime has. Great Job Niantic!

Still receiving mails from Ingress, quit a long time ago. Seeing these comments made me both sad and happy. The game had so much potential yet the complaints made me realized my decision for quitting was for the best.
