Today we’re getting under the hood with Dr. Kimberly Gordon-Achebe, a mother, daughter, sister, women’s advocate, and a double board-certified psychiatrist, health equity consultant, and mindset coach in mental health and social justice, specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. She’s the founder of BHETC, LLC, and the Medical Director of iMIND Behavioral Health, Mobile Response, and Stabilization Services.

She earned her B.S. from Xavier University of Louisiana and her medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Gordon completed her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. She’s now an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University and former Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Through her coaching practice and consulting firm, BHETC, LLC (Bringing Health Equity to Communities, LLC), doing business as Dr. Kim Answers, Dr. Gordon passionately supports mental health equity initiatives for women, children, adolescents, and families.

Dr.Gordon has been honored with the American Psychiatric Association’s Jeanne Spurlock Award and authored several peer-reviewed publications on the impact of racism on health disparities. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She currently serves on the

Board of the American Association for Community Psychiatry as a Member at Large and Co-Chair of the Child Committee for the Medical Director Institute of the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
