Follow the signs from town to reach the end of the road and a large car park which marks the start of the walk.

Absolute must do when staying or travelling through Hokitika. The walk is lovely, nice and easy and good for children.

The walk takes you on a well graded path through trees, with glimpses of the river and gorge, down to the swingbridge which crosses the impossibly glacial blue river at the gorge.

Even when it's raining, it's stunning. Cross the bridge to get further downstream to look back to the bridge.
