Climate change is one of the most pressing issues we will face for decades to come. We need a leader like Sara who knows this and will act on it swiftly. She understands that this is also an opportunity to bring more green jobs to Maine and work towards energy transition, which is a huge economic opportunity for our state! This is the kind of leadership we deserve in Washington.

We desperately need Sara Gideon in the senate to stand up to Republicans on the issue of climate change. Nothing else matters if we don't address this crisis NOW. We see the affects of a warming plant all around us and I am ashamed to be leaving this tragedy to my grandchildren who certainly deserve more. I pray Sara is elected to begin working immediately on this crisis we are facing.

Not even a generation ago, the ocean water at beaches in Maine was so cold it literally numbed your feet. Now it is barely chilly. The water in the Gulf of Maine is warming at a faster rate than anywhere else in the US. This warming is completely changing the ocean landscape on our shores including forcing lobsters to migrate farther from shore. Climate change is very real and is already having a detrimental impact on our amazing state! Immediate action must be a priority before it’s too late!

Sara Gideon's climate agenda recognizes BOTH sides of the problem - that we need to stop putting more carbon in the air AND we need to deal with the fallout from the increase in carbon we've already caused. Her plan includes effective, do-able actions to do both, for example by increasing use of renewable energy sources to replace carbon emitting fossil fuels, and by preparing Maine's coastlines for the ongoing rise in sea level caused by current climate change. Gideon's record in the Maine legislature on climate issues has included such things as restoring $38 million to energy efficiency funding in Maine and I am delighted that she will push for positive action on our climate future in the US Senate.
