Domain and Range of a function y = sqrt(x-5)

Показать описание
How to recognize the domain and range of a function by considering the possible inputs and outputs of a function.

We can also graph a function to find its domain and range.

The independent values are what we call the input and the dependent values are called outputs.

We consider all Real numbers when writing the notation of inputs and outputs

Why can't the range be -infinity to +infinity? Square root of the number can be both positive and negative, right?

But sqrt has negative value too right?

Nah but here me out. How is this even a function? Let's say we have y=sqrt(x+2). We replace x with 0 to see if it's a function. y= + or - 2. y has 2 xs'. But when we graph it, it passes the vertical line test??? Idk

But
y²+5=x
So why not taking negative values of y

Why only [0, ♾️) is taken?
