Ive not touched the UnrealED since 2k4. Its come along way since then. Even UnrealED2 was fun to play with.

There's MUCH MORE to this engine then just games, people. It's a multi-media program for all types of artist and projects. The ease of rendering grwphics and physics as detailed as this with much less hassle results in faster and cheaper movies, music, ads, videos, animations, etc.

Just because it's main purpose is to aid the game market, doesn't make it useless for other media.

The fact that this engine takes so much frustration out of HD game graphic headaches, results in more time being put into gameplay and story. But if a game's gameplay/story sucks, its NT Epic's fault. They have no real control over those aspects of a game from another company.

I'll be honest with you, it looks better without the translucency, bloom, and especially the lens flares.
But keep the particles.

The visual jump between Gears of War 1 and Gears of War 3 (and Judgment) with just a step from Unreal 3 to 3.5 was pretty incredible, and all on the same hardware.  So I'm extremely anxious to see games using Unreal 4 on this next generation of games.  This stuff looks incredible; awesome stuff!!

When will unreal 4's features be implemented into a new UDK build? cause i can't wait to get my hands on some the new features and code base. especially the new blueprint system, really cool stuff.

I feel like some people are missing the point of UE4. UE4 is trying to create an engine that will increase the speed at which a game is built. They are trying to make it easier for anyone to create content. When an artist can change assets without having to go to a programmer and then wait hours for the effects to be rendered and they can just do it themselves in real time just seconds, it creates new possibilities. Sure, the UE4 can make some very pretty things, but that isn't the primary selling point, at least not to developers. Imagine what things will look like when UE4 is being used by thousands of developers. Video games will be created in months instead of years. Getting the graphical portion out of the way gives devs more time to focus on the story and the bugs. Creation can be more centralized as opposed to departmentalized. Instead of tens of millions of dollars, you may need only hundreds of thousands. You'd be insane to not use UE4. Then again, I know not the mechanics of the game industry. This is just what I've gotten from following the making of UE4.

Using depth buffer for particle collisions is nice, but how does it work with semi-transparent materials like glass?

I just got the UDK and havn't tried effects yet where is the cascade editor in UDK

The water had a bit high viscosity, but that's probably something that can be tuned by the user..?
