Soooo many records, so many white male artists! This may be my problem when it comes to having no girl groups!!! Anyways, I can not change the past... only the future. Who else loved that mystery unboxing as much as me? I guess I've found a new thing to collect hehe

Here's some other additions I'd highly recommend for your collection that will probably be up your alley based on your somewhat diverse taste and general bent...

The Cars - The Cars 1978, brilliant album, very unique sound even today, well produced great songs, as in all of them.

Duran Duran - Rio 1982 literally a must own and ground breaking, highly influential for everything that came after. Like much new-wave prior to this Duran Duran were combining a multitude of different styles but this one hit it out of the park and caused a Pop explosion of similar sounding stuff but never replicated IMO. I personally think most people think "new wave" and think this sound but "new wave" started quite a few years before this and was all over the map in terms of sound and mixture of styles, prior to this album "new wave" wasn't really any one particular sound. Afterwards any reference to "new wave" meant THIS and pop music.

Anything Blondie in the late 70's/early 80's is not only great but will be a revelation in terms of figuring out how influential that band and Debora Harry was on everything after. Most of their albums are insanely diverse in terms of style and mixing a bit of even Jazz together in a very digestible way. My personal first acquisition recommendation would be "Eat To The Beat" as it will expose you to the NOT Blondie that everyone already knows and has some fantastic stuff but not too too out-there.

Go-Go's Beauty and the Beat... super fun nothing more to it.

Shocking Blue - The Shocking Blue, just because everyone needs a bit of psychedelic in their collection and you definitely don't want what everyone else already knows backwards and forwards... also female lead so there's that when most people do not associate psychedelic rock with female lead singers.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I'love Rock and Roll... must have album with a female rocker, super fun, super successful can't go wrong.

Led Zeppelin - all of them, literally but if you want to be a little off the beaten path start with III rather than the usual starting point.

GnR Appetite for Destruction. Yes, just yes. Trust me (and everyone else on the planet)

Happy hunting.

That Spirited Away record is one of the coolest records I have ever seen!

I know people that collect all the color variations of True Colours. I'm cool with one copy but mine does need upgrading. I have the purple and yellow. Record is nice but the jacket is jacked up.

Nice acquisitions. The Rainbow album have a good selection from the band (although the absence of Temple of The King and Rainbow Eyes are felt). There are some songs from the post-Dio era, they are ok songs, but more standard hard rock songs. Blackmore after Dio wanted a more mainstream band and the 80s close, a phenomenon common to many bands from the 70s.

I don't have a LP collection, but I always wanted one. I have many collection hobbies (Hardcover books and games primarily) and I don't have the space or money for anything else. But I love your passion and enthusiasm for music and collection.

Rainbow is metal when it comes to the Dio-era. The albums that came after that are more pop-rock. But those first three are definitely metal.

The soundtrack to spirited away is amazing. Also Princess Mononoke if you haven't got that already.
Maybe it sounds odd to you, but try to get Conan The Barbarian soundtrack. Probably one of the best film scores there is.

That Spirited Away soundtrack is GORGEOUS. They chose the most perfect piece for the front cover, it's so colourful and I love it. Your boyfriend really knows how to pick.

Hi Kira Not sure if you listen to a band named " Tool" they're considered heavy metal / progressive rock. If you haven't please give them a listen!! So amazing they will literally change your life. 💕 Lateralus and 10, 000 Days are amazing albums :)

Back in the early 50s there was a hit song with the lyrics "she just loves my big 10" (record of my favorite blues)", it was by Bullmoose Jackson. Ha!

10"'s are so nice. The favourite of mine is a Cannibis Corpse album that comes in a huge ziplock baggie, which is a big square picture disc.
