Gimnazija Kranj Christmas Concert 2016 - American Night. In sold out Gallus Hall (Cankarjev dom, Slovenia) The Gimnazija Kranj Symphony Orchestra perfomed An American in Paris by George Gershwin. Our kids and their friends played this work of art stunningly. The Concert was sold out in record time of 3 minutes (1500 seats). It was magic musical and artistic experience. Maestro Nejc Bečan did again an superiror interpretation of this magnificent work od american cultural and musical heritage. Headmaster: mag. It never ceases to disappoint when i read comments from people with educated ears who expect Berlin Phil from a group of students. That's like going to a cooking school and expecting to be given food that's three-star quality: Foolish in the extreme and guaranteed to disappoint. I love this orchestra for its attitude, its musicianship (sure there are errors but these are live performances), and having said that the performance is stunning. I wish the orchestra in my high school had sounded half as good. Here is a group of people who have the makings of world class musicians, loving what they do and doing what they love. What more could one ask?

What is a sheer delight to my ❤️ is the great passion displayed not only by Master Conductor Zevnikov but also by the players who feed off his apparently bottomless energy. He brings out the very best in the players, who, in return, bring out the very best in their beloved Conductor. I cannot justisten to the music, I am totally drawn in to watching the love shown. At 81, my heart fills, no overflows with joy taking in these magnificent productions offered!

Loved it... The usual creepy, glamorous, powerful Zevnikov soul, sometimes in unresolved chords, in his endless introduction transforming itself into the ultimate gentle cantabile melody, though still hopping with percussion, woodwinds, brush, brass, violin and continuo.I am so grateful to have listened to it. Such hard work. I am humbled...

Maestrísimo Nejc Bečan is extraordinary... he becomes one with all: expressive, always at the correct rhythm, continuously eye contact with the orchestra, energetic when it’s needed, or soft and tender in his gestures. I highly recommend other performances In YouTube of him, specially Smetana’s ‘Die Moldau’.
