In **ONE** situation the reasoning may be this:

the reason son might get more is because they need to pay/take care of their wives and families, whereas the daughter might get less because their husbands need to take care of them and financially support (doesn't mean women cant work, that's a different topic) in marriage as a woman your money is your money and your husbands money is also your money.
i think this is the simplest explanation

The women inheriting more is explained following: Let's say a women gets her share X. According to shariah, his brother gets a share which is double hence 2X. Now the women gets to keep her share X while the man has to divide his share among his sons and daughters. Not only that he is accountable for dealing with all the family financial issues and provide food on the table within that 2X share while the women doesn't have to give a penny to anyone and all the share belongs to her and her only. That's why in more case does a women inherit more than a man.
