Caravan of Care - Athens

Row after row of cars gathered at Homewood Village shopping center for a Caravan of Care, an event created by community members as an opportunity to show thanks and support for healthcare workers in Athens. Following prayer, the Caravan cars full of families holding thank you signs and other words of encouragement drove down Prince Avenue to parade around Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center and show support for the community’s health care professionals who are battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Groups of Piedmont Athens Regional healthcare workers lined the sidewalks outside of the hospital, waving at the Caravan of Care as cars honked and flashed their lights, circling the hospital block in an incredible show of support for staff.
