How safe is living in Puerto Rico?

I lived in Santa Isabel Puerto Rico for four months  and never saw any urgent need to walk around in cautious fear. However, here in stateside USA where I grew up I repeatedly have.

Caserios are all around us. In 31 years I've never been to one, but I do pass them by everyday. I've never been robbed and I generally feel safe but I always take safety precautions.

my friend PR is a paradise compare to other countries.. Try to go to Brazil, Venezuela or maybe Hoduras. I'm sure you'll have a lovely experience visiting the fabelas and friendly people.

Try living in new York, Chicago, camben, Compton, Detroit, and LA they are much worse

The crime is high in the city area, San Juan, not in the country.

Lol! We use that joke pretty often in the island.. "give me all your money" or "esto es un asalto dame todo lo que tienes"
Hahahaha and then when the person sees they realize that it's a joke and we lagh and say hello. Get used to it...
