Eric Clapton is a legendary British guitarist, singer, and songwriter, known as one of the most influential rock and blues musicians of all time. Born on March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England, Clapton gained fame as part of several iconic bands, including The Yardbirds, Cream, and Derek and the Dominos, before establishing a successful solo career.

His guitar-playing style, especially his mastery of the Fender Stratocaster, earned him the nickname "Slowhand." Some of his most famous songs include "Layla," "Tears in Heaven," and "Wonderful Tonight." Clapton’s music is a blend of rock, blues, and pop, with influences from American blues artists like B.B. King and Robert Johnson.

Despite facing personal challenges, including struggles with addiction and the tragic loss of his son, Clapton's resilience is reflected in his music, often marked by emotional depth and soulfulness. Over his career, he has won numerous Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times – as a solo artist and as a member of The Yardbirds and Cream.
