Born on March 30, 1945, in Ripley, Surrey, England, Clapton gained fame as part of several iconic bands, including The Yardbirds, Cream, and Derek and the Dominos, before establishing a successful solo career.

His guitar-playing style, especially his mastery of the Fender Stratocaster, earned him the nickname "Slowhand." Some of his most famous songs include "Layla," "Tears in Heaven," and "Wonderful Tonight." Clapton’s music is a blend of rock, blues, and pop, with influences from American blues artists like B.B.
