I'm 40 and I just made homemade salsa for the first time in my life from your recipe. Delicious!

We make the very same recipe in India and call it a variant of tomato chutney...
if u put cilantro more than tomatoes in there...it becomes dhaniya chutney....where u can also add black salt, dried mango powder, cumin and ginger in the grinder, for added flavour!

We also make one variant of salsa with the exact same method but we used charred tomatoes in there!

It's a delicious recipe!!

Just that in India, we call it chutney and in Mexico, you call it salsa!

Also, if you add half tbs of salt in that cold water, it would kill the bitterness of raw onions. That's my mom's tip. :)

I made this salsa on Super Bowl Sunday. It was such a big hit with my family, I made it again on Monday!!!! I used (2) cans - SW Mexican Stewed Tomatoes and half of a sweet onion for the substitution, and then continued with your recipe. Absolutely delicious!!! 👍🏽🙌🏽👏🏽😍🎊

as a mexican i honestly really like this type of salsa. i saw some weird recipie that used tomato paste and bell peppers and a bunch of weird seasonings like cumin and garlic onion powders it was so weird but this actually looks good
