Hi there. Please can you make a short about the word candidate?, especially about the matter of dropping the first d?, with showing similar words. Thanks.

American English is so much different than my Kiwi accent from New Zealand. I love visiting my friends who live in Tennessee. We understand each other but can’t help calling each other out on mispronunciation

Hey my lovely teacher Rachel,
I have a question, please.
I hear native Speakers say words like "want, can't " with a glottal stop t at the end ; and when I try to imitate them I can't put my tip of the tongue on the upper alveolar ridge for the n sound . Tell me please what to do ?
I will wait for your reply.

That's not the "d sound", that's the "soft r spanish sound".
