A beemer will always have class plus i love the sound of a straight six. A renault of any sort doesn't do anything for me.

The BMW would almost always have the top end acceleration due to the aerodynamics, but sub around 100mph it looked like this clio may have been quicker.

That BMW has nice wheels and drop :). I prefer ir to the ClioRS, 6L sound is different and RWD is more fun, buthey, we are talking of a two totally different categories of cars, not directly comparable: little hot hatch vs premium coupe (being old does not mean less premium). I had a 320i coupe E36 durimg 5 years and I liked it a lot, if only 150bhp were not enough in the end, but sounded gloriously and handling was superb with Bilsteins+Eibach

Circiut for 2nd gears sure. Circuits like Nurb, never.

Anyways, the 328 has the differential ratio really long, the most e36 ratio (2.93) with a 325i E30 differential ratio (3.64 or 3.91), its really really quick. Maybe the Clio don't hang even the start aceleration. ;)

And... they never go to 250 in this video.. so the difference is huge. By the way, the clio is really quick, but... the 328 is more and the clio use the recoil from 328. And the 328 have 17-18" wheels. Stock wheels are 15" So..

The clio compromises everything for a bit of power at the beginning, while the bmw offers comfort, good sound insulation, good handling and enough all in one.
The only reason the bmw "eats dust" from standing start is because the clio has no options whatsoever.

I wonder if you are able to drive 2-3 hours in the clio at 200 km/h. A well maintained 328 does it in comfort and style...

instal a 325 intake on the the 328 and have a easy hp upgrade around 30 hp!!!!

For your knowledges in spite of that on a track the Renault Sport Megane 3RS 265hp for example, the best stock commercial FWD in the world, won vs more powerful German or from others countries RWD or 4x4 which are more 2x & 3x more expensive than the Megane 3RS ^^
The best ratio "Price / Racing Performances" are by far for the Renault Sport cars !

It's funny the clio driver was probably doing all he could to keep up while the bm driver was probably driving an auto chilling on the armrest looking in his rear view at the clio drivers face of frustration lol
