Kyrie Irving trade rumors are heating up as the Brooklyn Nets have stated that Irving will not participate in practice or games until he gets vaccinated, leaving James Harden and Kevin Durant to try and win the NBA title without their third All-Star. Irving went on Instagram live Wednesday evening explaining his absence from the Nets, saying “I’m standing with all those that believe what is right. Everybody is entitled to do what they feel is what’s best for themselves. Seeing the way this is dividing our world up, it’s sad to see. People are losing jobs to mandates...In order to be on the team, I have to be vaccinated. I chose to be unvaccinated and that was my choice. I would ask y’all just to respect my choice.”

Nets GM Sean Marks issued a statement on Irving’s status in Brooklyn, saying “Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant. Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose.” With Irving’s status up in the air as the 2021-22 NBA season gets underway, could the Nets be looking at potential Kyrie trade destinations in the event he will not play for Brooklyn?
