My instrument (called Hurdy Gurdy) is recorded in "layers", so that it sounds like an orchestra playing many harmonies.
This cover is produced by Marius Falo.

The hurdy gurdy is proof that a violin and a kazoo can have beautiful children.

Tons of talent. My two year old daughter is obsessed with your music. The second we turn it on she will drop what she is doing and run to watch you. Keep up the amazing and beautiful work.

Wow! Sounds like this tune was written to be played on a hurdy-gurdy :)

This was pretty awesome! Excellent sound and performance.
Love the Gurdy. It's a shame that very few people actually know and play it nowadays.
Keep it up!

You remind me quite a lot of Lindsey Sterling -- there's joy in your music and you look like you're having fun doing it. There's other musicians where it's all business and even a kind of grim focus to them, like it's a just another job. You appear to be doing what you love and revelling in it. :-)

I just love how happy you always look when your playing your Hurdy Gurdy, it just looks like its giving you every ounce of happiness it possibly could, and I love seeing musicians who are truly happy to play their instruments, because you can really feel the love in their music.

"And who are you, " the proud lord said,
"To play such weirdling things?
This has a crank, a set of keys
And awkwardly placed strings!

A windlass ravished a keytar
To sire this ugly fuss!
You'll never reach the heights of fame
With this odd platypus!"

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
That Lord of Castamere.
Now Patty's hurdy gurdy sings
Where everyone can hear!
Yes, Patty and her gurdy sing
For all the world to hear!

Great music & a Red Haired & Blue eyed Irish to top it off. Red & Blue. Rare! Thank you Patty! Keep up the great work!

I knew it, when I first discovered Hurdy Gurdy, the first song that came to my mind is definitely the Game of Thrones intro.

Came here from Frederik Knudsen's vid. It being a medieval instrument and the show wrapping up, the GoT theme was the first thing that came to mind, and you did an awesome job!

Just imagine adding some powerful vocals to that song, and I got the melody! Gurdy, she the sweetest young lady in the world, her looks of innocence, can absolutely kill!

One of my favorite TV shows musical themes played by my favorite hurdy gurdy player. Thank you Patty!

I still can't decide if I like the buzzing part myself, but I absolutely love the parts that sound like pipes or strings! Like many people I hadn't ever actually seen or heard a hurdy gurdy before (I hadn't even realized they were real, like a unicorn instrument!) let alone the gigantic variety of sounds that one could make. It's no wonder that they were a popular pick in the time where you might only get to carry one instrument with you.

Was thinking yesterday it's been awhile since we got a new video. Totally worth the wait. I've heard this song covered on the hurdy gurdy before, but the layering and production takes it to another level.

I'm increasingly finding that I always need to listen to your videos twice, one time being with my eyes closed, so that I can actually concentrate on the music... ;)
