Awww! How sweet of your niece to hook you up with products! My daughter just gave me a silicone blender, I still haven't taken it out of the package. She's 17 and has young skin too. I guess I'll give it a try. I'm impressed! My beauty blender eats up all my products.
I love when other people do my makeup. Your niece did a great job. It was fun watching you two play with makeup together. I'm with you, Beth! I see clearance and think Bargain!!!

Really cute video Beth! I enjoy your channel. I'm SO glad that your niece explained to you about blending your eye shadow and that you noticed how much better your eye makeup looked. It really makes a huge difference in not having any harsh lines with shadows which can age and date;) us. Try using an Elf concealer brush to blend (it's a good size for this purpose) blending after each eye shadow is applied and blend, blend, blend! :) Also since your eyes are deep-set consider a lighter brown in the crease. The dark brown you always use only makes your eyes look that much deeper which I don't believe is your desired look (it can also be dating.) With your eyes so close-set keep your shadow colors to the outside corner of your eyelid instead of the entire lid as you currently do, and try using a light eye shadow under the outer corner of your eye instead of liner under your entire eye. The dark color you use under your eyes makes them look smaller and deeper. You are lovely, but I think these small changes would really enhance your features. Would love to see a video where to do one eye as you normally do and then try the above suggestions (mentioned only with due respect and camaraderie.)
Also since you mentioned having hooded eyelids this video might also be helpful
I really think you would be happy with the look if you were to try softening your eyes with blending, lighter color in the crease, keeping shadow to outer eye only and lining with a lighter shadow.

I bought one of those heated eyelash curlers and mine didn't come with instructions. I tried it a BUNCH of ways and I finally figured that you need to use it on freshly applied mascara while it is still wet and pliable (I do one eye at a time). Then, instead of combing it through (because it sticks the lashes together) I just push it a little above the base of the lashes to bend then and hold it still for 10 seconds, then I move on to the next section. Then, if your lashes are long enough, you can go back about half-way up the lashes and bend up the tips holding for about 5 seconds. It is time-consuming but by the time the mascara dries... WOW! Once I've done both eyes I go back and add a second layer of mascara to the tips. Try that before taking it back. ; ) Ciao, L

This is my favourite video of yours so far. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face watching you guys try out makeup. It had the old slumber party "let's put on makeup" female bonding feel to it. So cute! I think you should do more videos with your niece. So glad you tried that silicone blender. I had been wondering about them, but didn't want to take the plunge. Okay, so here is a fun idea. I love your videos Beth. This video was more special with your niece in it. I hope you do more with her, I really enjoyed her young wisdom with makeup. I have a daughter that is 22, so we both love makeup and she has done mine before. Infact, I did my mom's makeup when I was her age. It is fun to share similar interest with makeup. Beth, I'm still watching the vid but I tried that silicone blender and felt exactly like you both do It felt weird but it did a goodjob I think you may even use less product with this because there is no absorbtion from your fingers, I tried it to put on my Retin-A and so far everything seems ok :) Love your vids!
