How can art be used in education and civic activities, especially in oppressive environments?

Learn more about our flagship annual “Future of Freedom” Consultation “The Artist and the Tyrant – How to Promote Freedom Through Art?” (Tbilisi, Georgia) from a series of interviews with different resource people and organizers.
The main aims of the Consultation are as follows: ✔️ To jointly learn about ways of promoting freedom, using different art forms and conveying our messages with humour, irony and a certain detachment; ✔️ To analyse and debate the effectiveness of creative engagements; ✔️ To identify new options for promoting liberal ideas in oppressive environments and encourage civic engagement; ✔️ To debate and discuss alternatives to the accepted contemporary instruments and methods of adult political education and learning.
Several working groups worked on proposals of how to promote freedom through art with different art forms: film, music, language, visual arts, performance art and graffiti.

The Consultation was organized by the Regional Office for East and Southeast Europe of Friedrich Naumann Foundation in cooperation with Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Caucasus #FutureofFreedom #FNFESEE
