In Cytology; Part 2 Professor Fink describes movement of substances across the cell membrane, including diffusion, osmosis, Carrier-Mediated Transport and "Bulk Transport". 4 Factors are described affecting the rate of diffusion (temperature, concentration gradient, size of molecule & lipid-solubility). In the discussion of osmosis, isotonic, hypotonic & hypertonic fluids are described, as well as lysis and crenation. Examples of Active Transport are given and both Endocytosis (Phagocytosis) and Exocytosis (Secretion) are described. Also described in the video is the make-up of cytoplasm, including reference to microtubules, the nucleus and nucleoplasm, including reference to the "chromatin-shape" of DNA and the "chromosome-shape" of DNA. Also described are the 2 types of Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER), both "smooth" ER and "rough" (granular) ER, the Golgi Complex (Apparatus) and Secretion Vesicles and their functions in the cell. Reference is made to the manufacture, storage and secretion of Insulin by Pancreatic Islet Cells.

If I had a teacher like professor Fink in my youth, I would not have minded school and studying.
