Sean Lock is obviously joking about the horse restaurant, but when I worked in Beijing we sometimes went to a restaurant for lunch that only served seaweed soup and a sort of sandwich thing with donkey meat. It was actually quite nice.

The scandal was about mislabelling as I see it. Horse meat is actually very nice and I generally prefer it over ground beef for lots of things but I also like to know what I'm eating, so I can see the fuzz, just not why some people seem to think horse meat is somehow inferior.

I remember when this all came about, my son was about 7 at the time and loved the cheapest of ready made lasagne, I laughed and said, you've probably been eating horses all this time, he said, who cares, it tastes nice, didn't put him off one little bit 😂

Would you mind eating a horse if it was an old horse, had it’s day. Had a few younger horses and won a few races and ended up in a lasagne 😂
