In Fall 2021, the UCLA School of Law Criminal Justice Program and Criminal Justice Law Review held a three-part symposium on restorative justice. The goal was to engage law students and faculty across the country in conversations about restorative justice and the criminal and juvenile legal system as well as restorative justice pedagogy and its place in the legal academy. Below are the videos for each panel.

Restorative Justice Panel 1: Building Communities of Healing and Accountability

The symposium series kicked off on November 3, 2021 with a panel about restorative justice as a method of violence prevention through creating communities that are interdependent and accountable to each other. Panelists were: Gary Malachi Scott, Restorative Justice Coordinator for Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth; Sonya Shah, Founder of the Ahimsa Collective; and Justice Robert Yazzie, Chief Justice Emeritus of the Navajo Nation. The panel was moderated by The Gilbert Foundation Director of the Criminal Justice Program, Alicia Virani.
