Open the handle and put victorinox/wenger knife in there instead of this kit. Now you have a chance to survive. lol

“Keep it filled with Skittles” I laughed way harder at that than I should have.😆

I think you're vastly underestimating the value of the handle contents:
- The compass helps you navigate back to the store to demand your money back.
- The line and hook let you hang a sign in front of your house reading "Don't buy this knife".
- The sewing kit lets you sow the message "DON'T BUY THIS KNIFE" across your shirt.
- The matches allow you to light yourself on fire for buying the knife in the first place.
These are meme knives for LARPers, walls, and those who want to break dirt cheap knives. 30-40 bucks can get you an infinitely better knife.
Great video though, these "budget" items are always good for laughs. Can almost guarantee you 5 out of those 6 bucks went into that screw.

I always wanted one. The concept is good. I kept finding them along the trail with the handle broken off. Fun review.

The blade is reflective so during your tacticool missions if you're in the bushes or the treehouse people will see you.

I have that exact knife and love it! It’s in display on my wall with a couple other knives. My brother gave it to me as a gift to add to my growing number of knives

I wrapped my handle with paracord and put a hexkey in the hollow handle and put a drop of thread lock on the screw keeping the handle attached to the blade. The handle has room for some more useful 'survival' gear and I touched up the blade.

In all honesty I bought one for nostalgia's sake. My first fixed blade was one my dad got me just like it, and it cleaned many squirrels, rabbit and grouse throughout my childhood.

Oh my all loving goodness this brought back memories. I had one like this when I was young. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.

The compass is pointing to magnetic north, not true north. That's why it seems "off".

Watch out for Jeff Rambo! You're not hunting him.... he's hunting you.

Jeff, do a search and you'll find that earth's poles have been shifting more for the last several years. That's why if you're into outdoors recreation that requires accurate compass readings, you need to check declination more frequently than what used to be required. In some areas magnetic north is off significantly from true north.

I would like to see a comparison/vs video of this model and the Camillus version from this past Christmas. Just for fun.

Sure it's junk, but in a real survival situation, you'd be bloody glad to have that thing against having nothing.

Actually, Jeff, a friend of mine legitimately wants several of those in case he ever "needs" them. He's serious, and no matter how much I try to convince him to get a decent knife and build a better emergency kit, he remains unpersuaded.

Buying this knife is a rite of passage; like buying from BudK. It must be done once AND it's not bad for under $10(prob better/def better than Budk crap).

My first knife was one of those Rambo survival knives. I spent hours and hours in the woods with that thing. I sharpened it, and still have it on my work bench for cutting tape and string and other soft stuff. It's a tangible childhood memory now.

I was batoning one of these for a fire once and as I swung to get another chunk, the blade flew off the handle. 😖 I wouldn't use it around other people.

2:33. Keep the wrist lanyard to use as fire tinder.
