Welcome to Episode 8 of our Cricket Captain 2024 series, where we tackle the challenge of Rebuilding the West Indies! Join us as we work to restore the glory of a once-dominant Test cricket team using data-driven strategies and modern tactics.

The West Indies dominated the cricket world in the 1970s and 80s, powered by their legendary fast bowling attack and world-class batsmen. Under Clive Lloyd's leadership, they were unofficial world champions, famously winning back-to-back World Cups in 1975 and 1979. However, the 90s and 2000s saw a decline, as the team struggled to adapt to the changing professional landscape. Despite flashes of brilliance, such as the 2004 Champions Trophy win, the team hasn't regained its former stature in Test cricket.

Our mission in this series is to focus on Test cricket only, as we aim to guide the West Indies back to the top. We’ll combine the rich history of this iconic team with the modern tools of Cricket Captain 2024, Power BI, and Python. By leveraging player data, performance metrics, and team dynamics, we’ll craft a strategy to restore their legacy.

If you're passionate about cricket, data analysis, or simply love a good rebuild, this series is for you. Subscribe, comment, and follow along as we attempt to rebuild the West Indies Test team, one smart decision at a time!

i think the domestic comp only playing five games really hamstrings the development of some of the younger players going from fc to tests or thats at least what i've found

3:31 he has a 62 2nd team average. The real deal.

Meanwhile, Shai Hope 2nd team average 79, test average 31😂

Wasn’t Hope only averaging well when you took the gloves off him? Worth sticking him in the top 5 and giving the gloves to someone else?
