Thumbnail - नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम, 2019 (Citizenship Amendment Act) एक ऐसा कानून है, जिसके तहत दिसंबर 2014 से पहले तीन पड़ोसी देश पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश और अफगानिस्तान से भारत में आने वाले छह धार्मिक अल्पसंख्यकों (हिंदू, सिख, बौद्ध, जैन, पारसी और ईसाई) को नागरिकता दी जाएगी. नागरिकता संशोधन बिल पहली बार 2016 में लोकसभा में पेश किया गया था. यहां से तो ये पास हो गया था लेकिन राज्यसभा में अटक गया था. बता दें कि इस कानून के तहत उन लोगों को अवैध प्रवासी माना गया है, जो भारत में वैध यात्रा दस्तावेज (पासपोर्ट और वीजा) के बगैर घुस आए हैं या फिर वैध दस्तावेज के साथ तो भारत आए हैं लेकिन समय बीत जाने के बाद भी वह अपने देश वापस नहीं गए हैं.
