Subh-e-Azadi, An Anguished Evocation of the Pain of Partition.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz is widely regarded as the greatest Urdu poet of the twentieth century and the iconic voice of a generation. He is best remembered for his revolutionary verses that decried tyranny and called for justice. In his poem, Subh-e-Azadi, he expressed the anguish and disappointment of Partition and the cost that the Indian subcontinent paid for freedom from the British rule.

This is my tiny tribute to the legend.

It's sad to know that we killed each other, we forgave the Britishers but not ourselves.

Faiz ke dard bayan karne ka andaazz uffff. Yeh parde ke piche ki awaaz aur yeh clips bahut behtarian hai, Faiz ke alfazoo ko char chand lagata hai . Kise nai batwarey ko is andaaz mai bayan nai kiya hai aajtak.

Many people from India or Pakistan will feel it
But a true bangali or punjabi people will feel the pain and anguish
I was born in 1999 in kolkata
But I can feel that.

I don't know how to express in words the pain and agony our forefathers would have gone through. It was and indeed was the darkest days of undivided Indians history. Wish this never happened.

It feels like watching your own home getting divided, partitioned among an elder and a younger brother by an unknown outsider (Britishers) who had no feeling for any of the brothers. It feels like watching the grandsons killing each other while two brothers cry for what they became part of. It feels like watching a family digging grave and burying it's precious priceless memories for an unknown hope and promise.
I watch and it breaks my heart and tears roll each time I watch and listen to Faiz. This might be 20th time but the pain will not heal. Wish we could wake up as if it was just a bad dream.
Thank you faiz sahab

Partition was the most saddest part of Indian history, it's sad that we forgot britishers as culprit for this divide but always play Muslims against Hindus nd vice versa .
I hope partition had never happened 😭
