Hi my name is Danielle, welcome to my True Crime and Makeup series! I’ve been interested in true crime for the longest time now, what started with me watching true crime on TV with my Nan from a young age eventually turned into studying for a degree in Law & Criminology.
When I first watched Bailey Sarian’s series I was completely hooked, I loved how she had combined two of the things I’m most passionate about and delivered it so well. She totally inspired me to take the leap and do the same thing on my channel, so all credit for the idea goes 100% to her.
I’m from the UK and will be covering cases from both the UK and internationally, let me know if there are any cases that you’d like to see from me! More cases will be coming soon so please subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

"He didn't understand what they meant by his 'last meal' so they just brought him his favorite food, which was ice cream" God that broke me

Only mistake Joe made was he trusted everyone like a kid & clearly this world is not meant for such innocent souls. Even today mental health related issues are so easily swept under the rug because nobody wants to deal with them. I am glad that joe was happiest even though he was on death row.

His mother crying on the morning of his death and him not knowing what was going on is so sad, that George man should be the one on death row

The saddest part when I read about him was that he was so clueless about what was happening, that he didn't finish his last meal because he "wanted to save some for later". When I say I cried when I read that bit, omg.

The other prisoners on death row, playing with Joe tells all we need to know about his innocence. They knew he was innocent, there are always stories about inmates who are innocent being treated well by the other inmates. This one made me cry.

It breaks my heart that, aside from his family, inmates on death row seemed to treat Joe better than anyone throughout his life. It broke my heart to hear how he played with toy trains right up until his execution. They essentially put a six year old child to death.😔

That prison guard cared about him so much. I can only imagine how he must have felt when he couldn’t save Joe 😞

There is a child in my neighborhood who is like Joe. His mother lets him wander around town, and I worry for this boy. I don’t think he will hurt anyone. But I worry others might hurt him 🥺

I remember this story now. It still angers me that the sheriff essentially made sure a child was sent to death row. That is cold and cruel. Roy was a good man for trying to help Joe. Rest in peace Joe and Roy.

Poor Joe. The fact that he played with a toy train and how he couldn’t even comprehend the question of what he wanted for his last meal…ugh it breaks your heart.

You know this poor guy had a rough life when being on death row is the happiest he'd ever been! 🥺 And when other death row inmates have more compassion for him (i.e. playing trains with Joe) than that sheriff, well that just goes to show what an absolute piece of garbage that sheriff was! 😡 I hope Joe is up in heaven conducting trains and that sheriff is deep down just roasting!

"He was happy just to have a place to stay and food" made me Blessings to Roy and the other inmates to give Joe his happiness. Joe always looks so friendly and kind, but was so betrayed by the fucking liar of sheriff. Again I consider we have two different kind of mindsets in humans, its people like Roy vs. people like the Wyoming buttface. I feel the strongest disgust against ppl who lack humanity towards any living creatures. Thanks for telling us the story

I have seriously never cried in a true crime video. I’ve watched hundreds of them. My brother has an IQ of 52. He is a 23 year old man with the mind of a ten year old. This one really hit home and thank you for covering this case and painting such a great picture of what a person with that low of an IQ is like. If he was anything like my brother, he must have been an absolute joy to be around and a constant reminder that having child like characteristics is such a true blessing to all those around them.

This one hits too close to home for me. I’m the caregiver for my mentally handicapped Aunt. She’s 66 years old but on the level of about an 8 year old. She’s the sweetest most loving person you could ever meet. Joe’s story absolutely breaks my heart. Thank you for telling his story.

I hope is at peace, surrounded by light and loving kindness. You truly gave him a voice, and shared his story respectfully, and gave him dignity.

Something you didn't mention, (as far as i belive, correct me if i'm wrong): But Joe saved some of the ice cream to eat later because he did not understand the concept that he wasn't going to be around after. Just imagining thinking that you're going to have a nice little treat later only for that later to never come? This case breaks my heart, Joe did nothing wrong but was given every punishment under the sun. I'm not religious but i hope that hes somewhere nice now. Whenever that is, i hope he has all the trains, and all the friends, that he could ever wish for.
