Megaraptora—a group of carnivorous dinosaurs that’s still a bit of a mystery when it comes to their place on the dinosaur family tree. Megaraptors were the real nightmare horrors of the Late Cretaceous. With razor-sharp claws and incredible speed, Megaraptor and its relatives were built for the hunt.

Looks to me that no Megaraptorian ever developed the trait of a larger and more powerful skull and teeth.
The fact that in most of it's environment True raptors were generally absent means it could probably fill a similar niche. the body shape with powerful land very long arms oriented to the ground, at an instinctive level gives me the sensation of an animal which was suited for grabbing smaller preys from the ground, rather then assaulting animals of similar size, where the shape of the mouth would not have helped much. In Gereral bipedal dinosaur had problem with a wide movement range for their arms, especially forward and laterally, with rather stiff wrists, which explain why all the large predators progressively reduced the arms size, relying on the teeth and the bite for subduing the prey. Generally, when you fight large bulky and powerful animals, you expect arms like a big cat, which proportionally are much larger, stronger and forward then what we see from the Megaraptora, coupled with powerful jaws which is not present here.
If instead your prey is much smaller and crawling on the ground, like a crocodile, a turtle or a large lizard like animal, then the ability for a relatively large predator, heavier on the back and with a light and slender head, to touch the ground and lift the prey where it's short legs become useless come very handy. Fishing behaviour is also not to be excluded, as we have footprints from Torvosaurus Gurneyi roaming the seaside for long distances, an animal that had similar (albeit smaller) powerful arms. The presence of Abelisaurids in the same area of the Megaraptora, with similar dimension, suggests they did not compete directly for the same food sources, which is immediately apparent by the completely opposite shape of their heads and arms. These are just speculation, but from an aetiological point of view, it is widely accepted that predators with similar size never coexist in the same ecological niche as one ends by out-competing the other, while Megaraptora and Abelisaurid, coexisted side by side for millions of years.

I thought the dinosaur in the thumbnail was smoking a bowl at first glance 😅

Great video, megaraptors are not talked as much as they should be.
If i have to critique something i would say that you should repeat things less, in the first 8 minutes you said we don't know if megaraptors are alosauroids or more closely related to Trex like 3 or 4 times. I understand that this detail is important, but is not necesary to say this that many times.

Some of these images are cool and seem more appropriately bird like. I wonder if therapods generally crouched low when they were running or stalking, but otherwise stood more upright like birds. A more upright pose with neck extended showing them walking slowly or looking around doesn't get pictured very often, but is increasingly shown.

I only learned of this family (for want of a better term) recently, and I find them amongst the most interesting. Don't get me wrong, I like the T-Rex and Allosaurs as much as the next man but they've been done to death.

What was megaraptor personality but if we don’t know is their fossil evidence that tells us about it.

My problem with y'all, and frankly my question is !! How much odasidy does it take for you to even think that you know anything other than the bones you've found and seen about dinosaurs?? You can only speculate about them, but you have no way whatsoever, to tell anyone that this or that, is proven !! Unless you were either there, or you somehow traveled back in time, and saw it for yourself !! So why do you continue to claim that you are the exoerts on the subject !! Expalin that to everyone ;! If you can, honestly !!!???!!!

Megaraptor is overrated
... Maip Macrothorax, however, is an absolute demon.

Is it truly relevant and necessary to constantly state "an extinct (sized) Therapod"? 🙄 They are ALL extinct unless you are awre of any currently living beyond the KP extinction event. 🤔

good visual, sad AI mispronunciation of names, so much for superior AI capabilities OR is it a woke programing error designed to tear apart English Language ?.
