I see these if my eyes are closed and I meditate.

These occur in some people without trauma or neurological disease.

Frick man, I was hoping for a whimsical explanation for the origin of phosphenes. Now I’m worried to death😢

What I'm about to ask about has happened to me my entire life. When I close my eyes, at the center of my vision I can see about 15-30 extremely tiny colored dots, almost imperceptible. The cluster is always the same color, and I've only seen red, green and blue. They're often red. If I focus on them and then open my eyes, I can still see them. But as soon as I 'stop caring' about them, they're gone. I don't see them all the time or even every day, but if I focus with my eyes closed I can see them. I don't feel like it's phosphene, because I can trigger those mechanically and it's wildly different. Any idea what this could be? For reference, if you hold your thumb as far away as you can, the size of your thumbnail would be about the size of the cluster of ultra tiny dots. Very very faint and doesn't obstruct my vision at all. I'm 33 as of writing this.

Thanks for any info you might have

Confess the Lord Jesus Christ with your mouth and believe in your heart that He died for your sins on the cross and God raised Him from the dead on the third day; repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!

I got recently hit by a small some thing on the lower inside quadrant of the eye.. I think the bone below the eye too took a hit but it happened so fast that i am not sure what exactly transpired on that bad night when while watching fireworks something came and hit me and hit me in the eye and I was in a crowd of thousands!

anyway.. it’s almost a fortnight now.. there is no problem with my vision as of now (I could even clearly see after the accident).. that thing seemed to have complete missed the centre of the eye..

but I see a weird yellow kind of light moving from top to left on my left eye.. it seems like light refracted of a bead of water on my eyebrows or something.. It is not in the vision but seems superficial, as if placed on top of the view.. literally like light refracting of a water droplet in the extreme peripheral eyebrow.. I think it appears yellow.. initially I
thought it was flashes but the description seems to match more with phosphenes.. no retinal cut or detachment has been observed.. nothing with the vitreous too..

my question is could phosphine after an eye trauma heal after a few days by itself?

I am having frequent scintillating phosphenes, like fluttering butterflies in front of my eyes when I close them. A Brain MRI shows tortuous Vertebral Arteries, possibly Vertebral Artery Compression Syndrome (pretty rare, I guess). I am due to see a Neurosurgeon next week, but can a misalignment of the C1/C2 area be causing this? I have been pretty much undiagnosed for more than 2 years with extreme pressure and pain in my head, with lightheadedness, nausea, throbbing head pain, and many other symptoms. I really hope you are able to respond soon. Thank you.

When you close your eyes after seeing bright light, you still see spots. Is that considered phosphene? I have never been able to close my eyes and see only black. My eyes will always create something out of nothing. Barely visible patches of dark red, purple, brown etc.

what about cervical imbalance? I have phosphenes and palinopsia, but eye exams are fine. Should I see a neurologist?

Can somebody help me understand if phosphenes can be perceived as hundreds of very small multicoloured dots of light (small like a singular pixel or a speck of dust) that move when you look at them?

I see it in both of my eyes with them open, it doesn't last more than 1-2 minutes; i'm trying to find the name of the symptom since i don't know if it's related with my epilepsy and my neurologist doesn't understand what i'm talking about when i report this.

i just woke up in my dark room, but my eyes could still see images no matter if i had my eyes closed or open, it was like i was playing a virtual game with real colors, faces & shapes.. then i turned on the light and made it go away.. but my vision still isn't clear.. & it feels like i'm about to get migraine with aura, or blind, mostly on my left eye
