Tbh I’m kinda glad we can edit more efficiently bc expediting the little things in the beginning gives me more time to obsess over the funner customization parts :)

I agree with the message and solutions in the end but I'm more confused with people painting AI in black picture (no pun intended). I understand the concern, but people creating a danger in other people's mindset makes me feel very weird about them.
The only thing AI changes is the ability to make things time efficient so that you can do things faster. You want to enjoy the process of, let's say, painting, video editing, animation, writing, etc? Do it! In fact, learn the basics first because even though AI is amazing, it isn't 100% dependable, and i don't think it will ever be. But even if it will, what's stopping a video editor to use these tools themselves? They'd be able to find out errors more efficiently than a person with no video editing skill. It is kinda like copy-pasting codes vs knowing how coding works. If you already know coding and you copy paste codes, it will be faster and better for you, but if you don't know any coding to begin with, it'd become so hard for you to optimize and fix the codes according to your need.

Manual painting, animation, writing, etc won't go anywhere imo. It would become more of a niche thing, maybe. Would still be appreciated by others because of, just like you said, art direction, story telling, etc. The human connection is always appreciated and that's why people still do water painting even though it was made obsolete by cameras long time ago.

My understanding (and vision if AI became really powerful) is that we all would be capable of starting our own businesses pretty easily, and would pretty much have to. That's the thing that's going to change a lot in the future, even more so than today.

But i still disagree about AI already powerful enough to do basic editing. Maybe I'm wrong, if I am, please do suggest the websites I can use to put together several videos, one of which would be the main facecam vid and others would be B-roll to be used exactly where a particular phrase is spoken in a video, and put simple transitions between them and some description texts here and there and subtitles. Both for shorts and long form video. I'm yet to find something like that, if you know something, it'll be really helpful.

Companies will still hire creatives to head up the development and use these AI tools and creatives will always be better than non-creatives when using the same tools. Also sorts out the people thinking they can do this for a quick buck and keep the people who do it for the love of the art in the game.
