Last guys take is ridiculous. If you want to make money making food then become a high end chef. But a skilmed worker making the same as a fast worker does not make any sense. Whats the incentive to learn more if pay is huge at the very bottom? This has nothing to do with livable wage i think minimum wage needs to climb, but for a McDonald's worker to make the same as a lineman is just a ridiculous take.

Minimum-wage jobs are generally for inexperienced people who still live with parents. Jobs that pay a little more are for somewhat-experienced/educated people who live with roomies.

If you don't want a minimum-wage job, do well in school, stay out of trouble, and develop a skillset.

That union guy is a muppet. A lot of union jobs are dangerous and/or require a lot of responsibility. They also pay dues for collective bargaining to get better-than-average compensation.

The issue isnt pay it’s the price of everything else going up at a faster rate than pay due to greed. It sucks cuz it keeps getting more expensive even accounting for inflation and the food everywhere tastes worse as the ingredients get cheaper.

Not a burger flipper, but a pizza maker. I do ok, but I’d never expect to make as much as a lineman, I’m actually trying to go be a lineman right now to get out of the food industry.
But I can’t discredit how hard we work in food industry. We should make livable wages, and at this point as an assistant manager I do. I just wish everyone could live a good life
