This song reminds me of a relationship that ended in 2010 for me, after 10 years with that person, I had finally had enough of trying to be what she/her family wanted me to try and be.I was never gonna be good enough for her and them.I hated living in the big city up north it was almost like I couldn't remember who I was until I left.No one should have to change who they are for someone else.Being truly happy means being accepted for who you are.Folks never forget who you are and where you came from.

Ya know people try to put Jason in the bro country category. I am standing by my truck under a tree and it's raining. In the middle of know were. Ever since hick town, he has been kicking ass. Pretty much every thing he sings has a meaning. And I thank him for that.his music has been there for me when i needed to hear the message. Like Travis T said put the rock in the country

This song speaks volumes to me, actually made me realize I had to leave what I was in. I was trying too hard to be who I wasn't. It wasn't her trying to change me, it was as he said "your world and mine are worlds apart". I did basically what this song said on a regular. My country biker ass would end up going to a pub in my faded jeans, leather vest and work boots. A look she always hated. She came from a family of money and privilege from the city, I was always a blue collar hard working man that grew up in a small remote northern town. We always fought about our differences. I loved her, but I wasn't happy being who I was when I was with her and always felt like I was a disappointment to her. I still don't think she understands why I left. She hates my guts and can't stand seeing me when we run into each other. But I know what I did was for the best. She'll be happier without me, and I'll be happier letting my rebel run.
